a little about me.png

As a kid, I frequently found myself buried in pages of dusty old books (at first, thrift copies of Nancy Drew mysteries at my Gram’s house, which eventually led to the torn, lavender copy of To Kill a Mockingbird I’ve studied half a dozen times), stories that drew me to new corners of the world, literally and figuratively. When I met my husband, he shared my passion for stories and adventure, and we celebrated our marriage in Greece, touring a city of three great playwrights. My love of photography emerged, by no accident, as an extension of my love for stories and places. Through my travels, and especially as our marriage grew by one baby, and then two, I found words and photography occupied a space within one another. And into motherhood, I began to pursue my art with that conviction. My hope is that sharing my art (and, of course, some hand-me-down, dusty old books) with my children, and with you, will uncover a little bit of our world, and yours, that might have otherwise been left unseen.

“While there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see.” —Dorothea Lange
